Hello Reader(s)!
This is a little sum-up of the drama and arguments that I have witnessed since attending all events. I feel like a lot of people take this industry lightly and without knowing the consequences of their own actions. This game is super "hype" and there is always a lot of shit talking spreading around. I personally always assumed that everybody loved each other and played just for fun, but I was thrown for a loop. A lot of the top players take this game so seriously. And when someone takes something really seriously in their life, they will definitely despise whoever tampers with the "image". I have seen/heard arguments about people scrubbing their way through a win, or people talking shit about someone's skills, all the way to judging a person's character based on how he/she plays. The industry of SF4 is definitely different from the way that I had imagined it to be. Simply put, just know what you are getting yourself into, and just like any other thing in life; know where to draw the line and which boundaries to cross/ not to cross. I am not the type of person who is down for all this hype so that is mainly why I am not taking the game seriously. I am just the girlfriend of a professional gamer and I like to play for fun. Thanks for reading!
I saw a video of Sanchez and Keno vs. Fuson909, and I was totally turned off by the crazy yelling and smack talk in the background. Part of the reason why I love Street Fighter so much is that it's a game for adults--we have experience from the 90s. But when people scream and act like that, it makes me ashamed that people can be so immature. If I ever went to a tournament, would I want to bring my girlfriend to a scene like that? Hell no. She tries to support me in every way possible, but it'd be sad when I try to keep her away from classless people like that (not everyone, maybe just a few).
