Girl Friend of a Hard Core Gamer

Hey everyone,
I was rereading all my posts and I realized that I never really posted something about my feelings toward my boyfriend being a Super gamer. So here we go!

I have loved this man since I was 14, and way before I knew he was into all of this stuff. I love him for who he is as a person and as a man. Keno is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me, and the solution to all my problems because he is always the first one to wipe away all of my tears and make me smile. Aside from all of this mushy stuff, video games have drastically changed my life. Like I have said before, I have met so many friends through Street Fighter 4. Before he brought me into this "world", we used to do normal people stuff, like go out to dinner or go to the movies. Now the main thing that we do is go to Arcade Infinity and play games, or play games at home... basically 90% of the things we do revolve around video games. I guess it is safe to say that sometimes I miss the way things were before I was introduced into this scene, but I definitely do not regret it. He makes me happy whether or not we are at the arcade or in a tournament. Keno always makes sure that my needs are met first. When I was sick and he found out, he immediately left a tournament that he was in to come get me and made sure that I was feeling better. I have just never had someone like him in my life. He keeps me with him everywhere he goes, and always tells me he loves me even if we are in the middle of an argument.

Street Fighter 4 has brought me countless numbers of friends, and has strengthened my relationship with my boyfriend. I have a new found respect for people who place top in a lot of tournaments because I know it isn't easy and it takes a lot of time and practice to become so good at something. I will always be the person standing next to Keno cheering him on to become a better person in life, and in his passion. Yeah this sounds all peachy and happy, but there are definitely some downsides to being in a relationship with video games and my boyfriend. I do miss the normal things that we used to do, and not having arguments about whether or not he will be attending a tournament that day to hang out with me. It really is about endurance and being able to adapt and love what you are adapting to. I am so happy with where our relationship right is now and I would not change meeting these people in Street Fighter 4 for the world.

It literally amazes me how much I know about this game now... like really, a few months ago I would sit at the table and not understand half the things everyone was talking about: FADC ultras, etc. I still don't know that much, but hey, I AM LEARNING!

(Shout out to Keno) Baby, I know I always complain about how long tournaments last and they really take a toll on me sometimes, but I just want you to know that I love you so much, and I am so proud of how well you do in everything you set your mind to. I know that this is your passion and has been a dream of yours since you were young, and I respect that you never let go of what you truly love to do. You are my motivation to strive for more in life, and you are always going to be the fire under my ass you sexy piece of milk chocolate :)

Thanks for reading everyone!

Triple Threat turn out

Hey everybody!

So, not to completely bash on yesterday's tournament, but out of ALL of the events that I have attended, the Triple Threat tournament was by far the "WORST" one I have EVER been to. It was said that the doors opened at 10:00 am, and the event was to begin at 11:00 am. I understand that a lot of times, these things start later then planned, BUT Triple Threat was over three hours late! It did not begin until around 2:30 pm. On top of that, we were charged $10.00 for parking in a crappy parking lot. THEN Keno and I found out that they were randomly charging for parking, and a lot of people paid, while others were not asked to. Of course he and I went to get our refund. That was so shady! This venue was in HAX, a damn gym and it was just ghetto, we were sharing the place with all these basketball players and bystanders. WELL, they were actually the people sharing their space with us all. Not to mention at night it was FREEZING COLD! In the grand finals, Justin Wong and Marn were blowing on their hands to try and keep them as warm as possible.

But WAIT... it gets even worse. Active Gamers was super short on their prize money and did not mention it to ANYONE until the end of the night. This tournament could have AND SHOULD HAVE ended by like 8:30 pm but lasted until practically 12 am. They were extremely irresponsible with organizing the events, and also providing the money that they said would be the prizes for the hard working winners. It has been a really really REALLY long time since I have dreaded these tournaments, but last night ROYALLY pissed me off. This was a complete waste of my time and to be honest, I am still peeved that I wasted my whole day there. But as always, being with my friends made the night a lot better for me and that was the best part of the night. My advice for active gamers next time (IF THERE IS A NEXT TIME) is to do a way better job organizing their events, and do not be shady in the monetary aspects of these things. Money is money, if you are short even one dollar, then you are short! OH and nobody has the time to stand around for over three hours to wait for you to start these damn tournaments, a lot of people were there around 9 am waiting for the doors to open at 10 am and we were not even allowed to see the venue until after 12:30 pm.

AND I have a super special question for active gamers... "What the hell was the point of the VIP tickets when the people who had them had to wait just like everyone else to get in the building?" Well, they provided 'free sandwiches'... whatever.

CONGRADULATIONS ON WINNING THE "WORST TOURNAMENT EVER ATTENDED" AWARD!

Good job to Marn for winning the tournament last night, even with the crappy weather conditions!

Thanks for reading!

(Finally) Street Fighter 4 to ME

Hey everyone!
I just want to start off by thanking everyone for keeping up to date with my blog entries (there are not that many of you).

So this blog is something I should have maybe posted a little while ago, it is a basic summary of my weaknesses in sf4 and also my thoughts about bettering myself in this "hobby".

My weaknesses would definitely DEFINITELY have to start off with my execution. I have a lot of trouble canceling some moves with different characters, my execution is not that wonderful. I do not own a console or the game, therefore the only time I really play is when I go to Arcade Infinity. Execution is pretty hard to get down every time, and I get really frustrated when I can't do something. THIS GAME MAKES ME ANGRY!

My favorite 3 characters to play would have to be:

1. Balrog ---> Because I have been practicing with him a lot and know more about him than any other character.

2. Ryu ---> Currently learning his moves and he is really diverse and fun to play with.

3. Akuma ---> My Akuma is pretty next to ass, but he is really really fun to mess around with, and I learn a lot using him from time to time.

Does it bother me? Honestly, it doesn't bother me that I can't really practice this because in my spare time, I would rather be shopping, or earning money. And if I am playing any games it would only be Sims 3, or Call of Duty (this game is awesome)! I started to play because my boyfriend plays and is all professional at it, but other than that, I do not really have the interest to sit here and practice uppercuts and fireballs all day. People might think I am messed up for saying this, BUT, to me this is all "just" a video game. But readers, notice the two key words in that previous sentence: to ME. Besides the whole Pro aspect of this game, I like playing at the arcade because it's fun and gives me something entertaining to do.

Okay people, thanks for reading my update!

RESULTS OF (A.I. RANBAT 2.6)

Hey everyone,
I literally just got settled at home from the ranbat today. It was awesome and ran from around 2:30pm to 10:00pm. I am so proud to announce the:

SEASON CHAMP
RON KENO CAESAR!

& ALSO

FIRST PLACE WINNER OF RANBAT 2.6
!

The turnout was not at all disappointing. Keno was sadly knocked into losers a little earlier in the tournament by Umeshoryu (Sagat). IT was extremely stressful and he had to consistently beat other top players: Kai (El Fuerte), Tatsu (Vega), Bryant (Balrog), Dae (Chun-li), etc. to win this tournament.

NOT TO MENTION
* He beat Mr. Alex Valle (Ryu) for first place! It was amazing!

I am so proud of his success and how he can walk his passion and always strive for better, that goes for his character in video games, and life. I made a sign for Keno to win and I am going to keep telling myself that he won because of my sign, ROFL! As always, all of the players did extremely well and put up an epic battle. Keno is a perfect example that practice can one day lead to the fruits of labor (as some would put it). This tournament was so enjoyable, and I have absolutely no regrets. Everyone fought a hard battle, but at the end of the night only one champion stood.

Keno played his matches very cautious, yet very smart, and is now basking in the glow of his victory. A lot of big name players competed against each other, which made this ranbat the most unforgettable one I have ever personally attended.

TOP 8 (LAST MEN STANDING)
1. Keno (Balrog)
2. Alex Valle (Ryu)
3. Tatsujinken (Vega)
4. Gootecks (Balrog)
5. Combojack (Sagat)
5. Kai (El Fuerte)
7. Bryant (Balrog)
7. Mr. KOF (Akuma)

THANK YOU TO
Shoo and everyone else who put this together, it was a very special night and a night well spent.

*ALSO*
The majority of people also went to banana bay for dinner right after. If you were there, you would know there were tons of people, great food, wonderful music, AND Combojack's amazing "yeah" performance.

*** CONGRADULATIONS KENO ***

*** SEASON CHAMPION ***

*** A.I. RANBAT 2.6 FIRST PLACE WINNER ***

Goodnight everyone,

A.I. Ranbat 2.6 Tomorrow

Hey people!
Tomorrow is the final ranbat of the second season at Arcade infinity. Try to go and support all the people who have entered! The season winner is between Keno (Balrog) & Jack (Sagat). It is going to be an epic day. There are going to be three set ups for the tournament. I am really excited to go! This is a pretty big event because it is the last battle of this season. All of the players have gone so far. Super Street Fighter 4 is also coming out very soon & when that happens a lot of people will be switching characters, it will be like playing a new game. I am kind of sad because I have spent some time becoming better at this game and now I need to start over again. I really want to test out Juri because her ultra is so SICK! Okay well good luck to all the competitors tomorrow! See you all there!

Teresa

(Sad to say but the East Coast C. Viper master AKA Marn has decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada. So we should all wish him luck out there!)

Street Fighter Events (two)

First off everyone who has been reading I appreciate it!

I am going to start off with the Bar Fights 2 hosted on the 11th of this month. It was at the same location as the first bar fights (Jake's Billiard's, Down Town Pasadena). This time around the event was more organized and had a section for V.I.P. guests. The main event was held in the V.I.P. section. West Coast tried to put up a pretty good fight but it was still no match for the East Coast. I must say, personally, I feel that East Coast has most of the super stars AKA "Justin Wong, Marn, and Stanford Kelly <--- I think that is how you spell his name". But West Coast has a lot more variety and a lot more competition. Such as Edma, Alex Valle, Combofiend, Keno, Mike Ross, Ken I, Shady K, and SO many more people, I just can't name them all or the list will be endless (literally)! Attending events such as Bar Fights is always a pleasure of mine. I love meeting new faces and people who also want to make a name for themselves in this scene. The passion I have seen in a lot of these Street Fighter 4 members is inspiring. Hope to meet more and more people!
*SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! (Marn from the east coast is said to be moving here to California soon)! Warm Welcome to the awesome execution perfect C. Viper!

On to the second batch of events. (FRIDAY night BEATDOWNS) hosted by Jose AKA "dj vest". These tournaments are pretty low key but I have been watching the streams on Ustream and they are not that bad. Not many people are tuning in to these end of the week charades but hopefully there will be more and more participating. I feel like if a person really wants to make it in this industry, they should study a lot of diverse competition. I am just a bystander, but attending Street Fighter 4 events have given me new found respect for people who dedicate their time to this hobby. So on Fridays please tune in to the Friday Night Beatdowns and help expand Jose's events. Unfortunately, I have not been able to personally attend these tournaments but I am sure I will soon. I have learned that even in the worst environments, whether it be the heat or dirt, there can be some of the best competitions ever. So don't ever over look these small details, they add up!

Thanks again for reading, I will be sure to keep everyone posted on events I know of!

Teresa

OH yeah! And how could i forget, (A.I. Ranbat 2.6 is coming up extremely soon and I think it is capped at 50 people. I cannot wait, this is the last epic battle of the season!) Please try to attend! I am not yet sure of the details of the tournament, but A.I. Ranbats are super exciting, I have become addicted to going. Come and be a part of this final battle! THANKS again for reading!

Bar Fights 2

Hello everyone!
So this is going to be a short little blog about my feelings on bar fights 2. SO GUESS WHAT?! It will be hosted on October 11th, the same day as my "birthday". Not only that, the 9th and 10th is the quals for this event. I am excited but also confused and I do not know if Keno and I should go or just celebrate my birthday. This sucks! Help me on my dilemma!

Thanks for reading.

Quick SF4 Damage Post

So... I asked Keno if it was possible to do a combo worth at least 700 points of damage and he said possibly, but with Gouken. Then he proceeds to do something that I thought was amazing, he did a huge combo with Gouken and ended up getting 716 points of damage! Well maybe it was just me, but I have never seen that much damage! It was worth posting about! Then I asked him if this meant he was switching to Gouken, and he said "NO!" Rofl... Thanks for reading my ridiculous post!

West Coast Warzone 2009!

Hey everyone!
I just got back last night from the long and awaited first day of West Coast Warzone 2009! It was amazing, I got to register people for like three hours... quite the experience, and I managed some of a bracket too for a pool. For the record everyone, never ask me to take care of a bracket because I totally suck at it! So I will not be able to attend tonight and it is the last night of the event (sad). But let me say, yesterday was amazing, all the good people got knocked into the losers for the semi-finals today! I was shocked! For example, Edma, Watson, Combojack, etc. But a few of them have already been completely eliminated (if I recall correctly). The set up was really nice, there were separate tables with a tv and xbox on each one... thirdstrike and marvel were set up a little differently. Everyone who attended the event were really excited to start playing, the day started a little later than everybody thought but ran quite smoothly. John Rog, Kai, Gootecks, Cami, and a lot of other people definitely worked hard to put this event together for everyone to enjoy; ESPECIALLY JOHN ROG. He put in all his effort, time, and NOT to mention a grip load of his OWN money to put West Coast Warzone together for all the people in the community. There was a lot of preparation put into this event and I appreciate everyone helped with this amazing gaming memory. I am staying tuned in to the results for Street Fighter 4 tonight. Also, the pool party on Friday was very enjoyable as well, it was like a huge drinking, and socializing party. I got to see a lot of my friends and meet new people, and meeting new people is like my hobby! All in all, West Coast Warzone was AMAZING and one of the best events I have ever attended and trust me everyone... I have attended a lot of these gaming events (A LOT)! So thank you John Rog for putting this together and thank you to everyone who helped... I cannot wait to see what happens tonight (OH IT WILL BE FUCKING EPIC!)

Bye!

Recent San Diego Tournament

Hey everybody!
So this post is on the recent San Diego tournament that happened yesterday... unfortunately I was not able to attend the event but gladly learned that Keno and Mike Ross won. The one clip I DID get to see is the one posted on Youtube right now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8-fShEVYas

Go ahead and watch that video if you haven't already. John Rog's famous quote to Keno "YOU ARE NOT THE BETTER BOXER!" lol... it made me laugh pretty hard. You might think it's weird when you watch it because both John Rog and Keno are simply jabbing and poking each other without any super/ultra/dash punches. This is simply because it was the last match of the night and everybody was tired, they were taking it easy and having a lot of fun with it which is what everybody should do in my opinion!

Bye!

AI ranbat 2.5 & Life

Hey everyone,
so my spirits are not well right now... I just moved out of Keno's house and I miss him a lot and funny to say, but true, I also miss the Street Fighter community. This all seems second nature to me and all of a sudden it's been stripped away and I am back in this hell hole. I wish I wasn't here but what can I do about it right?... So to the AI ranbat that went down last night (SO AMAZING)! Keno got first place out all of the amazing players that went. It's so awesome how he won the first tournament I ever attended and also the :( last one that I attended before I moved out... UGH I am SO depressed... I can't remember the last time that I felt this way. I guess that's what happens when you have your literal "other half" and out of nowhere it's all changed. It's okay though... we are strong and I know it will work out... the situation just leaves me speechless and depressed now. I can't even play Sims 3 without crying my ass off so now I just stopped playing for a while... ugh, so difficult. Keno is not only my boyfriend and the love of my life, but he definitely is a well-respected STREET FIGHTER 4 player because he never fails to impress us all with his surprises and secrets. I love his dedication for his passion and at the same time he has morals and never crosses the line with ANYONE, and I can say that with the upmost confidence in my statement. The tournament was amazing last night and Keno & I couldn't have asked for a more perfect turnout.

I MISS all the people I have met in the community! I don't live super far but now life has taken priority before all the luxuries I had while living with Keno, I didn't have to worry about the dumb shit I worry about now. I met some of the most life changing people in this little arcade infinity... the biggest group of genuinely nice & funny people I didn't even know existed. I can see now why Keno loves to hang out with this crowd. I met some awesome girl players and other girlfriends who are there to support there boyfriend... and I met a lot of guys who were willing to give me tips and pointers on how to better my playing skills and also sat with me for the long hours I would be at the tournaments sitting by myself. There is nothing more that I can ask for from these people who I call my "good friends" and I am so glad that I was open-minded about Keno playing this game because now I know these great people.

I LOVE YOU ALL AND KENO BABY I LOVE YOU THE MOST!

Dizelan Center Tournament

Hey everybody!
I am at E-games with the typical community; Kai, Scott, Keno, Bryant, JR, Miyuki and her hubby, Sherry... etc. It is 8am and we all just all arrived here straight from the night tournament in Azusa. The turnout was really interesting.

1st place winners: Alex Valle, Ken-I, Watson
2nd place winners: Combofiend, Sin, Dash
3rd place winners: Keno, Mike Ross, Combojack

I really enjoyed this tournament and I am so happy that all the teams did so well tonight. I am past the point of being tired and now we are all going to eat dim-sum... waiting until 9am to eat... wow FATASSES! After the tournament was over a lot of people stayed at the tournament location and played a few hours of casuals... Miyuki kept raping the girls! God dammit! I need to practice. Currently I am depressed because I am moving out of Keno's house and back to my old house in Ontario and it saddens me, so I don't really have the time or motivation to practice street fighter 4 anymore. Hopefully I will still see everyone because I met a lot of really great people in this community and they are all special to me (corny but true). I am going to miss all the stories, epic drama, and just being able to all have fun together without spending more than 3 bucks LMAO. I definitely want to still attend West Coast Warzone, but we will have to see. This was the first and only real video game that I have ever spent time on and I am proud of my success because every win was sweet and every loss was a lesson well learned. Funny to say, but so true, the different people that I have met in the scene have changed me as a person; I have never met so many nice people in a group... until I entered Street Fighter 4... LMAO.

Thanks for reading!

turnout of evo 2009

Hey everybody!
I just got back from Evo last night and I am super sick. Las Vegas was a lot of fun and evo was so exciting, the final matches between Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara was amazing! I was on the edge of my seat for every minute of it. Keno did not do as well as we all thought but I am still proud of him... that's my baby! The one person I am extremely proud of is UTJ... he came in at a high 9th place at evo; WOW! My little el fuerte Kai came in at 12th place and it's hilarious because he hates the game but rapes a lot of people, so now no one can say anything about him because he possesses skills that a lot of people do not have. There were a lot of people at this years evo but the ball room was surprisingly cold (FREEZING)... it was a nice set up that they had going on. I am definitely glad that I went with Keno, even though now I am really sick... SUCH BULLSHIT! I met Daigo and he is so nice I really like him. Might I add a very handsome japanese individual. I LOVE YOU KENO! Also good job to the one and only Ed Ma, not everyone can be as good as him; obviously. Mr. Ono was also a very cool guy. So all in all Evo 2009 was WONDERFUL!

Bye everyone

EVO 2009

Whoo hoo! I cannot wait for evo, it's coming up in a few days from now. So I guess I can say that I am kind of nervous and anxious at the same time. Everybody has been practicing so hard for so long and I guess this is the event that will show what they have learned in these past months. I am excited to see the matches with the legendary Daigo, Mago, and all the other good players out there. Hopefully Keno does well, which I am sure he will! I mean come on everyone, it's evo, IT'S VEGAS WITH ALL OUR FRIENDS! It's all good! So good luck to everybody who registered for evo 2009. I know it has to be nerve wrecking but I know everyone will do well.

Bye!

doubtful character change

Hey everyone!
I haven't had anything to really write about for a little while until now. So I have been hitting a bit of a "dilemma" lately. I have been using Balrog ever since the beginning of starting Street Fighter 4 and it's coming to a point where I want to change to Sagat but then again, I don't really want to. Maybe it's all the tricks that Keno has been showing me with Balrog that I can't leave the flashiness behind... but at the same time I have clearly evaluated different scenarios playing other characters with Sagat vs. playing them with Balrog; and I must say that the odds are always in Sagat's favor. It was the recent Denjin podcast that I listened to with Keno that they stated "Sagat is a cheap character". I asked Keno if he thought so too and he agreed. In a way, I can definitely see why that statement applies to the character. He "deals" out so much damage and his life is pretty decent, unlike Akuma, C. Viper, and even El Fuerte. His tiger knees are pretty effective and his combos are undoubtfully damaging! But even with all the pros leaning towards switching to Sagat, I still don't want to let my Balrog go. It is really just the Eagle Eye that I have been slowly but surely learning from Keno and all the jab combos. I took a while to finally get the jab jab short jab head butt combo down and at this point, it would be quite disappointing to let it all go. So with all that doubt in my mind I started playing a little of both characters at Arcade Infinity lately. I guess my mind is kind of set on switching to Sagat... but Balrog will definitely be my follow up character.

Thanks for reading on my dilemma... please give me advice on what to do! I am a girl, all I like to do is makeup, hair and shop hahah so this is out of my league. I would like to learn more so I can further my success in the Street Fighter 4 "scene".

Bye!

Blaz Blue!

So me and Keno have been playing Blaz Blue. It is completely different from Street Fighter 4. It reminds me a little bit of Marvel vs. Capcom. Keno wants to join the tournament that Evo will be holding for Blaz Blue. I like the game, but then I tried transitioning back to Street Fighter 4 and it was horrible for the first 5 minutes. Well everybody, I feel the game is worth trying out for yourself. If you like Marvel, then this game should be kind of touching home base for you! Bye now!

FEELINGS ON THE LOSF TOURNAMENT

Hey everyone! So yesterday was the whole "ladies of sf4" tourney, and I definitely did not do well... at all! But it was a great learning experience and I will take a lot from it and just practice. There were quite a few girls there that I had never seen or heard of. Many of the competitors chose Zangief. That match up is always a tough one for me. The reason I did not do so well is definitely my last minute character change up and the jitters getting to me towards the end. I stayed true to my Balrog and used him after I got raped with Sagat. I was not ready to play with Sagat yet, but you never know what the next AI Ranbat has in store. To all the ladies who entered, it was fun playing with you all! I am definitely looking forward to the next AI Ranbat! Congradulations to Miyuki for winning, even though I missed it! Me and Keno went shopping afterwards. Thank you Shoo and everyone else who helped put the event together; it was a good run while it lasted!

Street Fighter Hype/Drama

Hello Reader(s)!
This is a little sum-up of the drama and arguments that I have witnessed since attending all events. I feel like a lot of people take this industry lightly and without knowing the consequences of their own actions. This game is super "hype" and there is always a lot of shit talking spreading around. I personally always assumed that everybody loved each other and played just for fun, but I was thrown for a loop. A lot of the top players take this game so seriously. And when someone takes something really seriously in their life, they will definitely despise whoever tampers with the "image". I have seen/heard arguments about people scrubbing their way through a win, or people talking shit about someone's skills, all the way to judging a person's character based on how he/she plays. The industry of SF4 is definitely different from the way that I had imagined it to be. Simply put, just know what you are getting yourself into, and just like any other thing in life; know where to draw the line and which boundaries to cross/ not to cross. I am not the type of person who is down for all this hype so that is mainly why I am not taking the game seriously. I am just the girlfriend of a professional gamer and I like to play for fun. Thanks for reading!

SF4 post!

First off I would like to extend a huge apology for not being able to practice with Naomi before the losf tournament approaching this saturday! SORRY!

So,
Keno posted a way long blog and it is ridiculous to read, lmao. Thank you to everyone who spent time reading it. Really, there are days where I forget why I am in the scene with him and I lose myself in complete confusion and anger... but he always helps me to realize that he is the only one for me and that is when I let go of the problems and the animosity, and just grow up and love him back. I speak on behalf of every man/woman who takes this video game industry seriously; the games don't represent their ability to love and care... so really, for me, if video games is what Keno wants to do and succeed in then I support him all the way. At the end of the day, he protects me from everything he possibly can.

FEMALE TOURNAMENT THOUGHTS
I am extremely nervous. I would love to do well in this tournament because I want to prove to myself and others that putting in the time and practice has genuinely turned me into a better player. I mean, video games are not my thing but they have definitely grown on me. SO hopefully I win at least one match!

Video Games + Girlfriend = You Just Dont Know

Yo! My name is Keno. I am a competitive gamer in the Street Fighter 4 scene and with that comes a lot of time spent practicing. I can easily play at the arcade for 8+ hours with no break. I am that dedicated to doing what I do. Normally I am attending tournaments at AI (Arcade Infinity). Those tournaments usually run 9 hours. The arcade is loud, full of guys, and foul language. On the other hand it also has some of the most interesting people you will ever meet. This is my life style. Seems awesome so far, now I bring my lovely girlfriend Teresa into the picture. She works roughly 4-5 days a week and wants nothing more than to come home and spend some time with me or go out for a night of adventure. On her few days off I usually have Street Fighter 4 related activities. You see us at arcades together quite often and we are all smiles. There is the other side that YOU JUST DONT KNOW! Now I shall rewind this story to the beginning. Im gonna start off and say this now, I love my girlfriend so much. I appreciate all the support you show me everyday. I LOVE YOU BABE! You are sitting right next to me playing that damn sims game at 5:33 in the morning just like a game nerd! Okay moving on! My girlfriend and I have been dating for over a year now. I had a job and she went to school Monday through Friday. At the beginning of the relationship we would see eachother once a week roughly because of my working schedule typically gave me one weekedn day off every two weeks so seeing eachother wasnt common. We started talking in the month of May. So as time goes by we love eachother and never had a single dispute. Always smiles and on the same page. Then comes the month of November! I was a computer technician employed by the awesome company CIRCUIT CITY that is now shut down! YYEEAAAHHHHH! Early in the month of november everyone was told that Circuit City was going to close 257 stores I believe. My store was one of them. So I worked through the liquidation process and our last day was December 23, 2008. After that time I filed for unemployment and I still am on it, siiiickkk. With this new found wealth and free time I could visit my girlfriend more. She still had school through the weekdays and didnt return home until 5pm. On Fridays and Saturdays would be our days to hang out. Fridays 5PM-10PM, Saturdays 11AM-10PM. Thats A LOT of time to spend together. We loved every moment we had together. We rarely went out. Enjoying each others company was enough to keep us happy. So things go well and in the month of February everything begins to change. Up until this time my girlfriend was aware of what I do for a hobby and she knows I am pretty good at it. I would explain to her what its like but I would always tell her its not the same unless you experience it. At first towards the later part of 08 I was becomming a better player. In 09 thats when my talent really went up to another level. So now I am pretty well known and performs well in tournaments and I tell my girlfriend to go with me to the arcade to see what its like. I take her to Video94. An awesome arcade that I played at exclusively. She went and pretty much was said "this is it?" She sits on a bucket in the back corner and watches for an hour. She says she never wants to do it again. Nobody talked to her and I am in my own little world. She had a taste of the life and didnt like it, as I expected. I felt everyone deserves to experience it once. So February gets towards the end and thats when my girlfriend moves in with me. This right here is the biggest factor in this relationship in my opinion. From here on things begin to change! Oh by the way if you have read this far you are awesome ^_^. So my girlfriend moves in and everything is fine so far. We are getting use to each others habits and its fine. My girlfriend decides to come and watch a tournament that I am entering. The tournament is the AI Season 2 Warm Up Tournament. She goes and this tournament lasted roughly 8 hours. She had never experienced anything like this. She didnt understand the game too much and didnt know what was going on. All she knew was what character I was and understood some of the hype. I am proud to WIN the first tournament my girlfriend watched me play. It was Gootecks and I in the finals. I was in the winners bracket the whole tournament! So after the tournament she congradulates me and we proceed to go to Banana Bay. So now my girlfriend is intrigued by what I do. She then accompanies me to more tournaments. A month more we begin to have some problems, BAD PROBLEMS. We have had arguments that threatened our relationship. A good two handfull of arguments that was a hair away from causing a break up. The topic of the argument ... Street Fighter! At this time my girlfriend isnt attending school and is working. She worked 5 days a week at this time. Now that she stays with me I need to remember that she needs attention and not just ignore her. At the same time there are some things that I do that are appart of my daily routine. I usually play video games for hours and go to the arcade till 4AM in the morning. Those things I had to cut down on because its the right thing to do. My typical mind state is if I dont want to go somewhere im not going. If I am tired then I am going to sleep. I usually would stay home and play games and that leaves my girlfriend with no activites. She isnt fond of the game to the point she will play it so we begin to bump heads. She wants to go out and do things or to talk. I want to practice so I can continue climbing the ranks in my SF4 scene. She doesnt want to spend her 2 days off going with me to tournaments. There are arguments about me feeling she is tying to change me and control me. There were some of her feeling that I choose a video game over my girlfriend and am inconsiderate. This goes on for another month until we both say that this is what were going to do and thats that. My girlfriends decides that the only way to save this relationship is for her to get into Street Fighter. She feels that it will help her understand and be able to participate and not be a spectator. I begin teaching her things and she realizes that it is WAY harder than she thought. She found respect for what I do and was proud of my skills. As time goes on she became a good player and is still learning. She shows some amazing talent that some seasoned players dont even have. We dont argue that much about it anymore. For the most part we go to the arcade willingly and happily and have a great time. All of my friends in the community like her and she feels they are awesome. From time to time we do have little arguments about Street Fighter but the understanding is better now. She knows that I go to AI tournaments no matter what. Thats my thing. If there is extra tournaments I will see and determine from there. I admit I do need to take her out more than just stay in the house. I am turning her into me. A game playing maniac. But hey thats not so bad is it? We have many Street Fighter related jokes. My girlfriend calls ChunLi's Spinning Bird Kick the Upside Down Slut Kick LOL! Currently we are stronger than ever and are one of the cutest couples id like to say. Things were not too easy and definately were hard at times. Understanding and the will to show interest is what has us together today. And now were IN-DE-STRUCT-ABLE!! .... no ones gonna stop us now. In-de-struct-able .. gonna keep em comin. In-de-struct-able ... the LAST MAN STANDIIIIING lol!

Practice for SF4

Hey everybody,
So me and Keno were playing street fighter at home and we started this game of HORSE, but in training mode. It began as a game just because I was tired of the same old beating Keno routine (Just Kidding), and We just decided to pick a character and see how many combos we could each do. It was just like horse but instead of H-O-R-S-E, he used S-F-4. It makes sense because the word leaves less room for error. Honestly, it became really good practice for my execution on certain things. Of course we all know who won the damn game... (0_o)! He tried to make me do some freaking professional combos with like ex focus dash cancel and shit... it is not as easy as I thought it would be. So just in case you all wondered what we do for practice... we play "SF4" now. Try it, it's really good for you and your character(s).

Keno quotes: "Practice your trial mode combos everyone. It will definitely help you at this game. Get creative! With Balrog I hit an 83 ex loop combo on training mode with infinite meter! MIKE BLACK MONEY ROSS HAS THE GREATEST WARDROBE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!"

STREET FIGHTER LOVE/RELATIONSHIPS

So throughout the period of time that I have been dating a professional SF4 player, there have been many ups and downs. Keno is a really talented player and I am not just saying that because he is my boyfriend. His friends love him and he earns respect from people on and off the arcade cabinet. I never really understood what a serious competitive gamer's life consisted of. Sure, me and him are all smiles when we are together at tournaments and events... but behind these smiles are experiences and arguments that have gone beyond many things. In the beginning, it was all fun and games. Keno and I always would go out and do things like eat dinner, or watch a movie; typical relationship stuff. Things were great and happy... then one day I decided "hey, since he is always at the arcade, why not go with him one day?" I went with him to Video 94 and I did not understand any of that. All of his friends did not get why he brought me along. At that point, I started to see what a big part of his life this game was. I never thought that Street Fighter 4 would become my scene. But these past few months I have come to be close to all his friends. Every one in the crowd has a different personality and they each offer me something special to add to my life. His friends have become my friends and I love them all a lot. So our relationship hit many bumps and cracks along the way. I began attending tournaments with him at Arcade Infinity... they were so long and draggish, I thought I would die at every single one. But for some wierd reason, I always found myself sitting right next to him when he would play at every tournament. I am so proud of the success that he has achieved, I thought it was so easy to play this game and be good... but little did I know. The reason for me to pick up the stick myself and start playing had a lot to do with an argument that Keno and I had. It was the best for us. At that point, the game had become such a problem in our relationship because he was always at the arcade and I felt like he put the game and the competition before me... so I decided to try and play. I started to play around two months ago and slowly but surely we became more compatible and attending the tournaments with him became a breeze for me. So street fighter has brought both positive and negative points to our relationship... but I am proud to say that we have become stronger and more understanding towards each others feelings because of the trials we have been through. The reason for this blog is because I have heard from many of his friends that they have had many relationships go down the drain because of the game. I have also heard girls complain about how horrible it is so have a man who just focuses on video games... but I have learned to love everything about him and appreciate his skills. Keno is pretty well known and he has nobody but himself to thank. So I hope this blog kind of opens the eyes of people who are having the same problems; and to the friends who are reading this, I hope you all understand me a little bit better. Thank you for reading.

keno's 21st Birthday May 14th, 2009

For everyone who did not attend that on that night... it was amazing! Everybody was there, and I really mean everyone! I had no idea that all his friends would show up, which just goes to show what an awesome crowd he is surrounded by. When we made our entrance, they made us feel so welcomed and special. I am so sure Keno appreciated everything that they did that night. It was awesome! We all met up at Banana Bay and I had to drive him ahah he was so wasted. Keno got so drunk that when he went in to the bathroom, he tore off the paper towel dispenser on accident... it was one of the best nights ever. He definitely said that it was his best birthday ever in the history of his birthdays!

Ladies of Street Fighter 4

Hey there everybody. I just recently made a blog here because I have been attending all these Street Fighter 4 tournaments and events with my boyfriend "Balrog-Keno" and I decided, "you know what, why not?" I want to direct this post to all the females joining the LOSF tournament coming up on June 27th, 2009. I wish all of you good luck and may the best woman win. This tournament does mean quite a bit to me, not because I want to show off or anything, but just because personally, me and Keno have been through many trials and tribulations because of this game. And since I have started to play this game and attend all the tournaments and events with him, we have become a team and really grown up together. We have already tested each other's strengths and weaknesses and this is really the first event I personally will have entered. I look at it as a I love my boyfriend tournament. HOW CORNY IS THAT? BUT IT IS ALL TRUE. So to all the females attending this tournament, I really hope this begins to mean a little something for you. That way we can't all blame the guys for making us go. HEHE.
